Lesson 2: Introduction to Terraforming

"If you build it, they will come." In Step 4, let your client know that they are nurturing the soil of their microbiome so the seeds can grow and "the garden" can blossom, which creates self-sufficiency within the gut.

As we begin to introduce fiber and fermented foods, you’ll work hand-in-hand with your patient to develop their own unique path to terraforming based upon how their body responds. It's important to understand that everyone heals at different rates and that the "garden" will continue to grow and bloom in the weeks and months to come. A one-month and two-month post-GT5 follow up appointment will help you evaluate how well they are terraforming.

Understanding Terraforming

In this video, Jack discusses the concept and strategy of terraforming in further depth. He helps us to understand how the quality and cooking method of our food affects this process. Realizing that bacteria can work FOR us, instead of against us. Terraforming is creating "a new earth" inside of the GI tract.

In this step, you'll learn how to leverage your client or patient's progress so that their gut health continues to improve over the coming months. Jack introduces the idea of moving into expansion and away from restriction as we will implement in Step 5, so let your people know the light at the end of the “eating” tunnel is close and remind them of how far they’ve come in just a short period of time.
